Gravel price per ton by type
Base gravel and crusher run usually have a low price. Washing, sorting, color, and special rock types can increase the price.
We checked the 2026 price lists from Dave Gendron Aggregates, Young's Sand & Gravel, L&I Natural Resources, and Bulk-N-Bushel. The table uses published prices from these suppliers.
The USGS crushed stone summary gives an average producer value. A retail price can be higher because it can include processing and supplier costs.
How much does a ton of gravel cost with delivery?
A supplier can charge for each load, each mile, or each delivery zone. A minimum order and a small-load fee can also apply.
Ask the supplier for the complete quote. It must include the material price and delivery price. Also ask about the fuel fee, loading fee, minimum order, and tax.
Make sure that the quote uses a US ton of 2,000 lb.
Total cost = (tons × price per ton) + delivery + fees + tax
For example, 6 tons at $25 per ton costs $150 for the material. A delivery charge of $120 makes the total $270 before tax. The delivered price is $45 per ton.
How much is a ton of gravel in cubic yards?
One ton of loose, dry gravel is about 0.73 cubic yard, or 19.8 cubic feet, when the density is 2,730 lb/yd³.

How much area does one ton of gravel cover?
At 2 inches deep, one ton covers about 119 square feet. It covers 79 square feet at 3 inches, 59 square feet at 4 inches, or 40 square feet at 6 inches.
These values use 2,730 lb/yd³. Measure the compacted depth that the project needs. Add an allowance for grade changes and material loss.

If the supplier gives a price per cubic yard, enter that price and the delivery cost in the calculator. If the supplier gives a price per ton, multiply the ton result by that price. Then, add delivery, fees, and tax.
